Surat Fire Tragedy: Amitabh Bachchan, R Madhavan, Shraddha Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar & others pay condolences
Bollywood celebrities took to their social media to offer their condolences to the students who lost their lives in Surat Fire tragedy.

A massive fire engulfed a four-storey commercial complex in Surat on Friday, killing at least 19 teen students at a coaching centre, many of whom jumped and fell to ir deaths while some were suffocated, officials said.
In a video clip of incident, some young students at Takshashila Complex in Sarthana area, where building is located, can be seen jumping off third and fourth floors amid plumes of thick smoke.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said at least 19 students have died in fire, but Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has put figure at 20.
Several Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Bhumi Pednekar, R Mhavan, Shrdha Kapoor took to ir Twitter handle and offered ir condolences to students who lost ir lives in tragic accident. Big B wrote, "T 3174 - Terrible trdy in Surat .. a devastating fire and 14-17 year old children caught in it jump off building and perish .. Grief beyond expression .. prayers."

Ninteen fire tenders and two hydraulic platforms were pressed into service to douse fire, said an official of Surat fire control room.
Eye-witnesses claimed that re were around 50 students in complex when fire started. "Around 10 students on fourth and third floor jumped off to ground to save mselves from fire and smoke," said a fire official.

Locals helped in rescue operation to save stranded students and or occupants of building. According to a fire official, flames started from ground floor and reached top floor, forcing some students to take shelter on terrace which was covered.
"Lot of smoke accumulated on top floor where re were AC compressors and tyres which too caught fire. re was escape route available for students who got trapped on top floors. fire was doused in one hour. re were safety equipment installed in building," a fire official told media.
