Surge in number of mountaineers causes traffic jam at World's highest peak - Mount Everest, endangering trekkers' lives
While many Indians thronged outside their various favoured parties' offices awaiting the results of the Lok Sabha elections, a record number of Indians stood patiently awaiting their turn, on the precariously narrow cliffs of Mount Everest to reach its summit on May 23.

Long winding queues of people awaiting ir turn to share a cab or rickshaw under hot, blistering sun, to reach offices is a common sight in India's many metropolitan cities. But it is rare to see people bundled in bright, fluffy sweaters, len with heavy backpacks, under welcoming warmth of sun waiting ir turn to reach sw-cl peak of world's highest mountain - Mt. Everest.

This unprecedented crowd on peak was because this season also saw 80 Indians climbers scaling Mount Everest which h 381 listed mountaineers permitted to climb world's highest peak, according to PTI.
