Sushma Swaraj Passes Away: Lata Mangeshkar, Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor & other Bollywood stars pay respects

Former External Affairs Minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night. She was 67.

The senior BJP leader was brought to AIIMS around 9:30pm and was straight away taken to the emergency ward. Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan had accompanied her in the hospital. AIIMS doctors said she died of a cardiac arrest.

Bollywood celebrities including Lata Mangeshkar, Sanjay Dutt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Arjun Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Parineeti Chopra, Riteish Deshmukh, Ekta Kapoor and many others condoled the death of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

In a pathbreaking political career, she served as the Chief Minister of Delhi, and then, in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government, as a union minister in multiple ministries.  In the Modi government, she was appointed as the External Affairs Minister - a portfolio she redefined owing to her hands-on approach wherein she would often respond to citizens'queries on Twitter.

She declined to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Sushma Swaraj is survived by her husband Swaraj Kaushal and daughter Bansuri.
