Former External Affairs Minister and one of the BJP's tallest leaders Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night in Delhi at the age of 67.

Hours before her tragic demise, Sushma Swaraj h taken to Twitter at around 7:30 in evening and shared her views shortly after Lok Sabha passed resolution to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and J&K (Reorganisation) Bill, 2019.
Taking to Twitter, former Union Minister h thanked PM Modi over successful pass of Jammu and Kashmir bill and scrapping of Article 370. She h furr ded that she was "waiting to see this day in her lifetime".

PM Modi expresses condolences
PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter and expressed his sness over her demise. In a series of tweets, he spoke of her highly marking event of her death as 'an end of a glorious chapter in politics'. Calling her a prolific orator and outstanding Parliamentarian, he said nation will grieve her death as she was an inspiration to all. He said that she was 'excellent ministrator', and 'set high standards in every Ministry she handled'.
Former EAM Sushma Swaraj's biography
Sushma Swaraj, before joining politics, practised law as an vocate at Supreme Court of India in 1973, following which she joined ABVP. Later, she went on to participate in Jayprakash Narayan's movement during Emergency, after which she joined newly founded BJP. In her path-breaking political career, Swaraj served as Chief Minister of Delhi, and n, in Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government, as a union minister in multiple ministries. In first Modi government, she was appointed as External Affairs Minister - a portfolio she redefined owing to her hands-on approach wherein she would often respond to citizens'queries on Twitter. She declined to contest 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
