Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, August 6, fondly remembered veteran BJP leer and Former Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on her first death anniversary. Expressing sness over her untimely and unfortunate demise, PM Modi said late Swaraj 'served India selflessly' and was an 'articulate voice for India at world st'. Swaraj died in 2019 at of 67 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Leers pay tribute to Sushma Swaraj
Several political leers including Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Pras paid ir tributes to late BJP veteran.

"Sushma Ji was seen as an epitome of Indian culture. She was a blend of modern thinking and tritional values. She was always respectful towards seniors and elders. She was one of most affable Indian politicians and treated everybody with warmth and affection", VP Naidu said.
"Today, more than ever, remember her fondly. Always an inspiration", fondly wrote MEA Jaishankar.

About Sushma Swaraj
late politician Sushma Swaraj was born on February 14, 1953, in Ambala Cantt, Haryana and began her political career with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parish in 1970s. During her, over 40 years of career she h many firsts in her stint with BJP. In year 1977, Swaraj became youngest cabinet minister, at of 25. She was also first woman chief minister of Delhi besides being first minister to vocate ‘digital diplomacy’. She served as Minister of External Affairs in PM Modi's first term from 2014 to 2019 and h been one of senior-most leers in Cabinet. Swaraj h a kidney transplant in 2016 and h opted out of contesting 2019 Lok Sabha polls citing health reasons. She is survived by husband Swaraj Kaushal and daughter Bansuri Swaraj.
