According to a media report, however, he did not stop at that. He also claimed that if it turns out to be impossible, he will kidnap her and marry her thereafter. She had explained to the media how the win was much-awaited for her. The badminton star had previously won two bronze and two silver medals but missed the gold by a small margin in both 2017 and 2018. Having self-actualized her long-standing dream of becoming a world champion, the two-time-silver-medalist was thrilled and promised to bag a gold for the country in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Sindhu had also thanked her coach Gopichand for helping her throughout her journey. While also appreciating Rijiju, she had said, “Sir has been very supportive. The government of India has been a great support throughout. Whenever we needed anything, they extended their support.” She had further also heaped praises on the government of India for always encouraging all sportspersons.
