Tata Power re-enacts India's first commercial flight path flown by JRD Tata in 1932
India's first commercial flight was flown by JRD Tata on October 15, 1932, from Karachi to Mumbai. He carried mail from Karachi on the flight.

Remembering India's first commercial flight, moment was re-enacted by Tata Power along with JRD Tata Memorial Trust and Indian Women Pilot Association (IWPA) on Friday. A similar flight was flown from Bhuj to Mumbai. Furrmore, world's first woman pilot to cross Atlantic ocean and Pacific Ocean, Aarohi Pandit was one who piloted flight.
India's first commercial flight was flown by JRD Tata on October 15, 1932, from Karachi to Mumbai. Piloting Tata Air Services' first-ever flight, he carried mails from Karachi in single-engine De Havilland Puss Moth Aircraft.

Expressing her pride at moment, Aarohi Pandit spoke to news agency ANI and said, "To re-enact that wonderful moment today, I h flown a similar and craft from Bhuj runway that was built by women of Mhapur village within 72 hours during Indo-Pak war and landed at India's first civilian airport in Juhu (Mumbai)." Furr talking about her experience during flight, she said that it was a difficult flight as re was no GPS or autopilot due to which flight was always below 5,000 feet above sea level.
After landing at Juhu Aerodrome, flight was given a tritional water salute and a reception.

Re-enacting of India's first commercial flight flown by JRD Tata
Earlier on October 1, Indian Women Pilot Association (IWPA) in a release informed about Aarohi Pandit taking off from runway who will later refuel at Ahmedab and land in Juhu.
With an aim to educate women about aerospace and aviation, IWPA informed about tribute flight being first in ir series of events planned for Azi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Meanwhile, Aarohi Pandit who hails from Mumbai Borivali became world's first woman in 2019 to cross Atlantic and Pacific Ocean and Greenland ice caps solo in a light-sport aircraft, Mahi VT- NBF. "I cannot imagine any better tribute in Indian civil aviation world than to man himself - far of Indian civil aviation. I am very excited and looking forward to flight," she said.
