‘Teachers Play Big role In Giving New Direction To Society’: Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Dehradun: On the eve of Teachers' Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conveyed his sincere greetings and best wishes to all the teachers in the state, highlighting that they are the "true nation builders."

In his message, the Chief Minister paid homage to former President, educationist and philosopher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and said that teachers are the true nation builders, the Chief Minister office said.

The Chief Minister emphasized that teachers are crucial in shaping students' character and helping them become responsible citizens. He noted that teachers contribute significantly to nation-building through education and also play a major role in guiding society in new directions.

"Teachers also have an important participation in the successful implementation of the schemes run by the state government for the development of education," he added. The Chief Minister said that only those countries and societies move forward where the teachers are respected."We have to make the great Indian tradition of respect and reverence towards our teachers even stronger," CM added.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister urged students to uphold the Indian tradition of respecting and honoring their teachers and to contribute to the nation's and state's development by striving to be exemplary citizens.

Teachers Day 

Teachers' Day is celebrated annually on September 5 to honor teachers and their significant role in shaping students' lives. This day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a distinguished scholar and Bharat Ratna awardee, born on this date in 1888. Dr. Radhakrishnan served as the first Vice President of independent India from 1952 to 1962 and as the second President of India from 1962 to 1967.
