Tech will help govt provide Covid vaccine to all Indians; 750M Internet users now: PM Modi

PM Modi highlighted the success of Digital India Mission and spoke of his government's 'technology first' approach as he addressed the Bengaluru tech summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted success of Digital India Mission in country since its launch four years ago, pointing out that techlogy h gone on to become a key part of all schemes as he dressed Bengaluru Tech Summit on Thursday. 

Speaking via videoconferencing, PM Modi reiterated government's motto of 'techlogy first' and said a market h been successfully created for digital and techlogical solutions.

Terming techlogy as key reason behind success and penetration of various govt-introduced schemes, PM Modi ted that govt h used power of data analytics to ensure efficiency and better service delivery. 

"Our govt has used power of data analytics to ensure better service delivery and efficiency. Internet came to India around 25 years ago. As per a report, number of Internet connections, recently crossed 750 million milestone", said PM Modi, ding that about half of new users h been ded in just last 4 years.

Highlighting benefits of techlogy-first approach, PM Modi said that it h allowed government to build houses for poor at an unprecedented scale, speed and transparency while also helping in supplying electricity to households across country. Furr, PM Modi said that power of techlogy will give  government confidence to provide COVID-19 vaccines to entire population in India within a short span of time. 

PM Modi also lauded 'resilience' of techlogy sector and ted that while entire world was restricted, tech sector came into action and used tech solutions to keep work going on from home or anywhere. PM Modi also said that tech aptation wouldn't have occurred at same pace as it did w a few deces ago and that 'work from anywhere has become rm and is going to stay'. PM Modi predicted a furr tech aptation in education, health, shopping and more.

"In Information era, first mover doesn't matter, best mover does. Anyone can make a product anytime that disrupts all existing equations of market. In Industrial era, boundaries matter. Information era is all about going beyond boundaries", said PM Modi. 

"Achievements of Industrial era are in rearview. We're w in middle of Information era. Future is coming sooner than anticipated. We should quickly set bygone era's thinking aside", PM Modi ded.

Furr, PM Modi ted that India was 'uniquely positioned' to take a giant leap ahe in information era and said that India possessed best minds as well as biggest markets.

"Our local tech solutions have potential to go global. It is time for tech solutions that are designed in India, but deployed for world", said PM Modi.

Touting techlogy as a major player in global conflicts, PM Modi said that defence sector was being redesigned by techlogy and that wars that were earlier fought with elephants and horses was replaced by techlogy. PM Modi also said that fintech industry in India was doing very well and that millions across  country transacted without any fear. He furr reiterated government's resolve to create a 'sound data governance framework'.

"India has a clear vant when it comes to invation because of talent of our youth and ir zeal to invate. potential of our youth and possibilities of techlogy are endless. It is time we give our best and lever m", PM Modi said.
