Tejaswi Surya Completes Ironman Challenge, PM Modi says 'Commendable Feat'

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded BJP Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya’s successful completion of Ironman Challenge as a “commendable feat”.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said, “Commendable feat! I am sure this will inspire many more youngsters to pursue fitness-related activities.”

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya successfully completed Ironman 70.3 challenge today in Goa . This triathlon consisted of a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run, covering a total distance of 113 kilometers (or 70.3 miles) throughout event.

Tejaswi Surya became first parliamentarian to participate in event.

Tejaswi Surya Completes Ironman Challenge, Credits PM Modi For Success 

After finishing challenge, Surya urged younger generation to focus on fitness goals and push boundaries in this regard. He also credited PM Modi for starting Fit India initiative. 

“ inspiration itself goes back to FitIndia initiative kickstarted by PM Narendra Modi which helped me reflect on my fitness goals. As a young nation chasing big ambitions, we must nurture our physical fitness and become a more healthier nation. An endeavour to become fit also makes you more disciplined and confident, which improves chances of your success in any venture that you undertake,” BJP MP wrote on X.

BJP said that he was in regular practice for over last 4 months for this challenge. 

“I have trained rigorously to improve my fitness and as a result, am happy to share that I have completed this challenge!” he said.
