Seven people were injured after a Telangana State Ro Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus driven by a temporary driver clashed against a car and skid into a drain. incident happened in Bhuvanagiri district on Hyderab-Warangal ro and involved an RTC bus belonging to Parkal depot. re have been several cases of an accident involving temporary drivers after 17-day RTC employees strike began. Earlier, a 24-year old pedestrian, Shinde Dhanraj, was run over by a driver in Nizamab district when he was crossing ro in Manikbhandar area. victim h succumbed to injuries on spot. In ar incident, Abeeba Begum from Nizamab was killed while she was on foot at NTR Chowrasta in Nizamab.

Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle (HPMV) license
Questions have been repeatedly raised by opposition parties as well as striking RTC employees about State Government’s reckless process of selecting temporary drivers. Sources who have witnessed process have told Republic that anybody with a Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle (HPMV) license is eligible to apply and is cleared after a perfunctory driving test, lasting t more than a few minutes. standoff between KCR-led Government and TSRTC workers continue as despite Telangana High Court, on 18 October, asking State Government and Joint Action Committee (JAC) of TSRTC employees unions’ leers to convene talks to end gridlock.

TSRTC, which has been running in losses for years w, has been losing close to Rs. 12 crores due to protests in dition to Rs. 2 crores it was losing in operations. September salaries of RTC employees have been withheld and Chief Minister h threatened to sack all 48,000 employees if y do t resume work. A few union leers were seen offering flowers to temporary staff, appealing to m to t work for RTC and cooperate with employees. JAC leers have been reiterating that y are rey for talks with government, to discuss ir demands but Telangana CM KCR has been amant about his position of t negotiating with m and also t taking m back to work even if strike is causing massive public inconvenience.
