The Telangana Police on Monday arrested three persons and booked one for spreading fake news about Coronavirus on social media platforms.

Telangana Police on Monday arrested three people and booked one for spreing fake news about Coronavirus on social media platforms. According to reports, three accused were arrested in Yri Bhongir district in Telangana after y forwarded a fake picture of a patient lying on a hospital bed and claimed that a person h died in Hyderab's Gandhi Hospital due to virus. 

According to police, picture created major panic among people. Furr, reportedly, three persons, including WhatsApp group min were booked under Epidemic Diseases Act of 1897 for spreing false information and rumours.

One person booked in Hyderab

Meanwhile, an unidentified person has been booked by  Rachakonda police on outskirts of Hyderab on Monday for allegedly spreing rumours about dely virus. As per reports, accused shared a mess on WhatsApp and claimed that three individuals from area h tested positive for Coronavirus. 

Reportedly, police started an inquiry and are tracking accused to arrest him. y have also registered a case under  National Disaster Manment Authority (NDMA) Act at Chaitanyapuri police station.

As of date, total number of positive cases in India has soared over 125, including 17 foreign nationals. maximum cases of virus have been reported in Maharashtra and Kerala. Meanwhile, two deaths have been reported in Kalaburagi and West Delhi. India has suspended all visas, barring for a few categories such as diplomatic and employment apart from keeping in abeyance visa-free travel facility to OCI cardholders till April 15.

Moreover, Centre has “strongly vised” Indians to avoid all n-essential travel abro. government is also monitoring all suspected cases and has issued preventive visories. Earlier on Saturday, Central government decided to treat dely virus as a "tified disaster".
