Telangana: TSRTC unions and management hold first round of talks

For the first time since the TSRTC workers began their strike, the TSRTC management and unions held talks; the workers began their strike on October 5

For first time since TSRTC workers began ir strike, TSRTC manment and unions held talks. workers began ir strike on October 5 with various demands being me. At time manment and workers failed to achieve a breakthrough as re was consensus on nda, a top RTC official said in Hyderab on Saturday.

'We were rey (for talks) but y did t discuss'

Sunil Sharma, RTC’s Managing Director stated that Telangana High Court h directed that 21 demands of employees should be discussed, but unions wanted to hold discussions on all ir grievances which includes merger of RTC with government, Sharma stated this was t acceptable. RTC’s MD furr ded that y h requested union leers to discuss 21 demands, but unions did t agree with this and went left venue to hold discussions with or union leers.  Sharma furr stated that manment waited till 6:30 in evening for leers to return, but neir of m showed up. "We were rey (for talks) but y did t discuss," Sharma ded. Aswathama Reddy, leer of employees union h previously stated to reporters that y sought discussion on all ir demands and claimed that officials h given a wrong interpretation of court order, besides "restricting nda". 

Reddy furr stated that leers of unions came out of venue after conveying to manment that y are rey to return after holding discussions with leers from districts. "We request one thing... discuss all issues. We feel accepting (ir demands) or t will be resolved through talks," Reddy said.  Reddy furr claimed that y were t allowed to carry ir cellphones to venue, he ded that "se cant be called talks. y are talks under detention.”

'We said we will come (for talks) whenever called'

Sunil Sharma, while responding to se claims saying that cellphones are t allowed usually during meetings as y can cause disturbances, h pointed out that RTC officials mselves h also kept ir cellphones outside. strike by employees which on Saturday h entered its 22nd day is set to continue, according to ar union leer. Union leer stated that "We said we will come (for talks) whenever called.”. Alleging that meeting was held only to show that court directive to RTC and striking workers to settle ir disputes before 28 October h been implemented, a union leer said intention behind court's decision h been igred by authorities.

Congress condemns KCR

Congress on Friday demanded a judicial probe into Telangana State Ro Transport Corporation (TSRTC) matter. dressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderab, party spokesperson Dasoju Sravan stated that a sitting High Court judge should order a probe on TSRTC’s income, assets and liabilities and or aspects of its employees. Furrmore, he condemned Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for his statement on ongoing strike by employees of TSRTC. He called upon government to issue a white paper on TSRTC.
