TN CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami downplays water crisis issue prevalent in the state, says 'water scarcity reports are blown out of proportion by media'
The state of Tamilnadu, especially cities like Chennai are facing acute water scarcity for almost two months which the chief minister says it's blown out of proportion by the media.

While dressing media at Chennai, chief minister indicated that water crisis was being exaggerated, he said:

"In case of a water issue somewhere, it should t be blown up to give a false impression that entire State is reeling from water scarcity, nature has failed."
All four reservoirs around Chennai which are main source of water to Chennai city doesn't have a drop of water as groundwater levels have also gone down since rainfall deficit is also 69% according to IMD. But systematic failure of government even after warning of IMD.
Chennai city requires around 850 Million litres of water per day out of which only 525 MLD of water is only been supplied every day to city through metro tanker lorries which was agreed by municipal corporation minister SP Velumani himself during a press conference.
streets of Chennai has seen people standing with plastic pots everywhere for several hours a day from, people who have booked a tanker lorry and waiting for several days to get it delivered to ir doorsteps because of high demand.

People in many parts of state protested in streets with pots demanding water which are t hyped ones.

re are few reports about hotels getting closed and hostels being shut down in many places of city because of water scarcity which is happening on ground. But municipal corporation minister SP Velumani says that water scarcity issue is been hyped & situation is under control as government has taken measures.
When reporters asked about water scarcity, CM Edappi Palaniswami also said, "I request to stand with us. Please don't blow up an issue which occurring just in a few places and shows as if water crisis is all across Tamilnu. You all kw how much rain Tamilnu got. Nature has failed."
He also said that government is managing situation to take it till month of October & vember till when monsoon starts.

Opposition party DMK has also taken up issue w & started protesting on streets, seeking resignation of municipal corporation minister SP Velumani who failed to control situation.
