The Tamil Nadu government may hand over the land required to build a space launch centre in Thoothukudi district within the next six months, the government informed Parliament on Wednesday.

Tamil Nu government may hand over land required to build a launch centre in Thoothukudi district within next six months, government informed Parliament on Wednesday.
In accordance with a request by Department of , Tamil Nu government has identified 961 hectares of land in district to build launch centre, Union Minister in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh said in Lok Sabha.
Singh is in charge of Department of , which comes under PMO.

In a written reply to a question, minister said, "It is expected that Government of Tamil Nu may hand over land (for launch centre) within a period of six months." "rmally, on taking over land, realisation of such infrastructure may take two to three years' time," he ted.
Singh informed that land survey has been completed for 431 hectares of aforementioned 961 hectares of land.
Survey work for balance area is in an vanced st,he said.

Land acquisition by Government of Tamil Nu is in progress at Mhavankurichi, Pukkapathu and Pallakurichi vills of Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nu,he ded.
