To mark 550th Gurpurab, 550-ft-long cake prepared in just 12 hours

To mark the auspicious occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a team of 15 people worked for 12 hours to prepare a 550 feet-long cake in Patiala's Rajpur.

"An idea popped in my mind that we all should make a 550 feet-long cake and dedicate it to Guru Nanak Dev Ji on the occasion of Prakash Parv. The purpose of making this cake was to celebrate the 550 years of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birth anniversary," the brain behind the feat said.

The order was completed in 12 hours

One of the people who helped in making the gigantic cake said that they had received the order around 2:00-2:30 pm on Monday. He also said that after they received the order, they stopped taking any other orders and the entire team committed themselves to make this one order a success.

Sharing his excitement about the unique order, he added, "We have never made such a big cake before. 15 people were engaged in making this huge cake and took 12 hours to complete it. It feels so great that people are coming from far-flung areas to see this cake made by us.”

The nation is celebrating the 550th Prakash Purb of the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev Ji with much joy and excitement. In light of the same occasion, on November 9 this year, the Kartarpur Corridor was also inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550th birth anniversary.  The Kartarpur corridor links Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan, the final resting place of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev, to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Punjab district.
