To strengthen Indo-China Military ties, Northern Army Commander visits China

Visit of Norrn Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh to China is an indication of deepening military ties between India and China. During his six days long visit to China, Norrn Army commander will be meeting several top leers of Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) of China.

Sources have confirmed to Republic World that Army Commander will be meeting with Gen Han Weiguo Commander of PLA.

“This is a significant visit which comes at a time when Pakistan is under stress due to its domestic issues related to ir former military dictator. Senior Army officers of Pakistan are fuming as y have been denied promotion after Bajwa was given a three years extension”, a senior Army officer told Republic World and requested not to be named.

Pakistan is also under pressure because of actions being taken by Financial Action Task Force (FATF). “ visit of Norrn Army Commander indicated deepening of relations between China and India and is a huge blow to Pakistan which always banks on China for its military cooperation,” officer said.

This is second visit ever by Norrn Army Commander to China, earlier Lt Gen D S Hooda was first Norrn Army Commander to visit China. Norrn Command is responsible for maintaining sanctity of Line of Actual Control with China in Lakh region. Although off and on incidents of transgression in Lakh from both sides are reported, not a single bullet has been fired by armies of both sides.

Indian side has signed several agreements with China to ensure peace and tranquillity is maintained at Line of Actual Control (LAC).  visit has come soon after military exercise 'Hand-in-Hand' by PLA and Indian Army were conducted in Eastern Command in December last year. Sources indicate that visit is an indication of deepening of relations between India China 

“Border dispute resolution will get a shot in arm”, sources said.

itinerary of Norrn Army Commander includes meeting with delegation that represents entire front with Maj Gen from NE formation. Apart from meeting Gen Han Weiguo Commander of PLA, Norrn Army commander will be visiting various military establishments of China.“ Army Commander has gone to China on invitation extended by China, Army Commander is leing a delegation to China to exchange with Chinese counterparts ways of furring peace and cooperation in areas of mutual interest”, a source said.
