'Today, we choose to celebrate the heroes': Taj Hotel's inspiring memoriam on 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack Anniversary

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel has issued a memoriam in honour of those who 'shone their light through bravery, and courage and compassion'. The Taj Hotel in Mumbai is one of the main locations where the ten LeT terrorists carried out bomb explosions and held innocents hostage.

On occasion of tenth anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai attack, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel has issued a memoriam in honour of those who 'shone ir light through bravery, and courage and compassion'.  Taj Hotel in Mumbai is one of main locations where ten LeT terrorists carried out bomb explosions and held innocents hostage. 

"10 years ago, we saw darkest of days But we also saw brightest of lights shine through. Today, we choose to celebrate heroes. To recognize courage and compassion that elicited support from across world. Ít was a day that united us. Today, we stand stronger, and shine brighter than ever before", wrote Hotel.

Hundred and sixty-six people were killed and at least 300 people were injured in 26/11 attack of which 31 people died in hotel. hostage situation lasted for three days. Only one terrorist Ajmal Kasab was caught alive and was hanged in November 21, 2012 in Yerawa jail in Pune and buried re.

survivors of terror attack in hotel h a lot of praise for staff who ensured that guests remained calm during ordeal and were able to help m be rescued by security forces.

NSG's Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was one of 26/11 heroes who was martyred in attack at Taj hotel. He was leing a team of NSG commandos to remove terrorists from hotel in Mumbai.

He came under firings of terrorists and was fatally wounded. He was able to rescue 14 hostages before falling to shots and was conferred Ashok Chakra, country's highest peacetime gallantry award, on 26 January 2009.
