Tripura CM Manik Saha Reviews Flood Situation, Assures Victims of Necessary Relief
Tripura CM Manik Saha instructed officials to deliver essential support and amenities to ensure the comfort and well-being of those affected by the floods.
Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday visited the shelter house at Bokafa HS School, where 305 flood-displaced individuals have taken refuge. He instructed officials to deliver essential support and amenities to ensure the comfort and well-being of those affected by the floods.
"Visited the Bokafa HS school shelter house, where 305 flood-affected individuals have sought refuge after losing everything. I've directed officials to provide essential support & amenities to ensure their comfort & well-being. We're committed to standing by them through this challenging time," CM Manik Saha said.
The National Disaster Response Force said that 4 NDRF teams were deployed and engaged in rescue operations in South Tripura, Unakoti, Khowai and West Tripura.
In a post on X, NDRF said, "4 NDRF teams deployed & engaged in Flood Water Rescue (FWR) in South Tripura, Unakoti, Khowai and West Tripura. Evacuated 936 people and 38 livestock. 7 additional teams airlifted to Agartala for FWR Ops in Gomati, Sepahijala and other flood-affected areas."Meanwhile, on Friday CM Manik Saha visited the flood-affected areas of Udaipur, Gomati district, which have been severely damaged due to heavy rains."
Air dropping of essential food items is currently being carried out using MI-17 helicopters for the severely affected people in Amarpur and Karbook under the Gomati district.
