Truck Crashes into Temple Ground on Moradabad-Agra Highway After Driver Falls Asleep

Moradabad: A concrete mixer truck entered the temple premises on the Moradabad-Agra highway on Wednesday, after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

 Many people narrowly escaped as they fled from the out-of-control truck and entered the premise of the temple. The driver and his helper abandoned the truck and fled from the scene of the incident. Local residents later called emergency services at 5:32 a.m.

The incident was captured on the temple's CCTV, in which it can be seen that significant damage was caused to the temple grounds.

According to a constable at the Police Response Branch who responded to the emergency call, “the truck had climbed about 2 feet onto the temple boundary, causing substantial damage. The truck was later removed and taken into police custody.”
