TSRTC strike: Only 400 RTC employees resumed duties post CM's warning
Only around 400 Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees of the total 50,000 resumed their duties on Tuesday even after the deadline set by Telangana CM.

Only around 400 Ro Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees of total 50,000 resumed ir duties on Tuesday even after deline set by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expired on Monday midnight, said media reports. Chief Minister's office h warned TSRTC staff that y will t be taken back if y fail to resume duty. JAC of TSRTC has been on a strike since October 5 demanding merger of corporation with state government and revision of pays among or demands. Speaking to media Ashwatama Reddy, president of RTC - Joint Action Committee (JAC) said:
" RTC unions have decided to boycott CM KCR's call to resume ir services unconditionally. All employees are supporting strike and y will t join back into services until government comes forward to hold discussions with us on our demands."

TSRTC strike has been active for past few weeks w and y have been demanding government to fulfill ir 26 demands. Terming strike as 'illegal', government has clearly stated that main demand to merge RTC with government is t possible. RTC Union approached High Court and case is still pending before divisional bench.

CM's warning to RTC employees
Reportedly, K Chandrasekhar Rao h said that state cabinet h decided to allot 5,100 of 10,400 routes to private operators and warned that or routes would also be given to m if strikers fail to join duty by vember 5 midnight. However, RTC employees continued with ir protests at various places and sat in front of RTC bus depots and raised slogans in support of strike.

As RTC tried to run buses as part of alternative its arrangements in view of strike, protesting employees, at some places, attempted to prevent buses from being operated. An employee of RTC died of a heart attack in Nalgonda district, staff claimed on Monday. Three employees h allegedly ended ir lives and at least five suicide attempts were reported since strike began on October 5.
