India confirms 2 Coronavirus cases from Delhi, T'gana as global death toll breaches 3000

The govt stated that one person tested positive in New Delhi, while another person tested positive in Telangana. No personal detail was shared by authorities.

Two cases of coronavirus was confirmed by Central government on Monday afteron. In a press release via PIB, government stated that one person have been tested positive in New Delhi, whereas ar person has been tested positive in Telangana.

On March 1, UN Humanitarian Chief Mark Lowcock today released US$15 million from Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) to help fund global efforts to contain virus. anuncement came soon after WHO upgred global risk of coronavirus outbreak to "very high" – its top level of risk assessment. WHO has said re is still a chance of containing virus if its chain of transmission is broken. 

WHO has called for US$675 million to fund fight against coronavirus. re is a window of opportunity to contain spre of virus if countries take robust measures to detect cases early, isolate and care for patients, and trace contacts.

Tedros ham Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, said: “ potential spre of virus to countries with weaker health systems is one of our biggest concerns. se funds will help support se countries get rey for detecting and isolating cases, protecting ir health workers, and treating patients with dignity and appropriate care. This will help us save lives and push back virus”.
