Two Kerala ministers visit parents of snakebite victim Shehala
Two Kerala ministers met the parents of Shehala Sherin, who died after being bitten by a snake inside the class, and expressed grief over her death in Wayanad

Two Kerala ministers on Saturday met parents of 10-year-old Shehala Sherin, who died after being bitten by a snake inside class, and expressed grief over her death in Wayan. Kerala Education Minister C Raveendranath and Agriculture minister V S Sunil Kumar met victim's parents at ir residence at Punkunnu in Sulthan Bary, Kerala. Raveendranath, hugged Shehala's far, Aziz and apologised for incident and assured parents that government would take stringent action against those found guilty.
"I apologise on behalf of everyone," Education Minister told girl's parents.

A UDF delegation led by Opposition leer, Ramesh Chennithala, also met parents of 10-year-old child. As ministers were on ir way to Shehala's home on Saturday morning, activists of various political parties waved black flags at m as police tried to remove m. two ministers spent some time with family and relatives. Later talking to reporters, Raveendranath said a comprehensive probe would be held into incident leing to Shehala's death on Wednesday.

School Officials suspended
After a preliminary probe, three people-- Principal, Vice Principal and a teacher-- have alrey been suspended, he said. Kerala minister said education department would sanction Rs 2 crore for school this year itself for carrying out various maintenance activities. Besides, in all schools in Wayan, a detailed inspection would be held on ir state of affairs.
Stressing need to prepare a comprehensive pack for all schools in Wayan, he said government would release necessary amounts. ministers' visit comes amid continuing protest against authorities of state-run vocational higher secondary school at Kalpetta in this district who h failed to ensure that Shehala, who was bitten by a snake inside her class on vember 20, was rushed to hospital on time. As protest mounted, state government h on Friday suspended principal and vice principal of school in connection with student's death.

Student organisations protested
After a preliminary probe, a teacher, Shijil, h alrey been suspended for alleged lapse on Thursday. While her schoolmates h hit streets vowing t to enter ir classrooms till justice was delivered to Shehala, various student organisations took out protest marches to district collectorate here and in Thiruvananthapuram demanding action against those responsible for her death. Students have alleged that Shehala Sherin was taken to hospital over an hour after incident at around 3 pm on Wednesday. Though her parents rushed her to four hospitals, anti-vem was ministered and y were told to take child to Kozhikode Medical college hospital, which is about 90 km from Sulthan Bary. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Congress leer and Wayan MP, Rahul Gandhi h expressed shock and grief over incident.
