Mainpuri: In a tragic incident on Thursday morning, three women from the same family were killed when the roof of their two-storey house collapsed in Ibrahimpur village, Mainpuri district. The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on August 29, when the roof of a 15-16-year-old house collapsed, likely due to heavy rainfall.
House Collapses after Heavy Rainfall
Deputy Superintendent of Police Satya Prakash Sharma reported that the victims were buried under the debris from the collapsed roof. “Three women have died in the roof collapse. There are no other reported injuries,” Sharma said, attributing the collapse to severe rainfall. Authorities are investigating the incident further.
IMD Issues Yellow Alert in Uttar Pradesh
The monsoon season is at its peak, with severe rainfall across the state. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for several parts of West Uttar Pradesh, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming days.
In a similar incident, a 55-year-old woman and her two granddaughters tragically died when a wall of their mud house collapsed in Kartama village, Surajpur district, on Monday evening. The victims were identified as Dhanmatia Das and her granddaughters, Bijli, 3, and Suhani, 2.
Police reported that the collapse occurred due to weakening of the mud wall, caused by ongoing monsoon rains, led to the incident while the children's parents were away at work. The father rushed the victims to Medical College Hospital in Ambikapur, where they were declared dead on arrival.
