Udaipur murder: Accused arrested, suspected to have link with Pakistan-based terror outfit

In the Udaipur murder case, the police nabbed the accused on Tuesday. They are said to be linked to a Pakistan-based terror outfit.

killers posted a video on social media, allegedly boasting about 'teaching a lesson' to Kanhaiya, a tailor by profession, in bro daylight inside his shop on a crowded street in Udaipur, for 'putting up a social media' post. In said video, killers also threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that 'knife used for killing will reach him too'.

A Pakistani link has emerged in killing. Sources say that killers were associated with a Pakistan-based organization- Dawat-e-Islam. organization has several Islamic educational institutions around world. In dition, it offers online courses and runs a television station, 'Mani Channel'.

Confirming arrest, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot, said, " investigation, in this case, will be done under Case Officer Scheme and by ensuring speedy investigation,  criminals will be punished severely in court. I again appeal to all to maintain peace."

Situation tense in Rajasthan

Meanwhile, incident has triggered reactions from all corners. BJP's Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, a Member of Parliament from Jaipur Rural, said, "How can someone dare to do such a thing? This is t an incident in isolation, Rajasthan has become like Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. When re is law and order, people dare to do such things."

Congress' Pawan Khera politicised matter and said, "This is a very condemnable incident...re is place for such incidents in country...But question is who has created this kind of an atmosphere? Who gets political benefit from such incidents."
