Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore lauds the film fraternity at the launch of National Museum of Indian Cinema, details inside

Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore addressed the guests and media who gathered at the inauguration event of the National Museum of Indian Cinema in Mumbai. In his speech, Col Rathore talked about the contribution of Indian cinema towards the country and how it has been buried under the economics of a film doing well every Friday when it releases.

However, he added that the government acknowledges that the films, the characters, the stories and the dialogues have inspired lakhs of people over the years. He spoke at length about how it has inspired them to dream and shown them the way towards success. Further praising the film fraternity, Col Rathore added that they have carried India's name and culture far and wide even to places where there aren't many fans. As for the places where Indian cinema is already prevalent, the minister feels that Indian culture has already reached there.

Col. Rathore claimed that this too is a great form of service to the nation and that the Prime Minister has always looked for ways to further strengthen the booming film industry. He also recalled how he was sent to attend the Cannes Film Festival in order to observe and help native films in these international film festivals. Not only that, but Col Rathore also disclosed that the PM had always wanted to further help Indian films that are going to the Academy Awards every year by helping them promote their projects financially.

Thanks to the PM's foresight, the minister revealed that since 2015, for all films going to the Oscars, a special fund has been assigned to ensure their success. He also spoke at the length about the Film Facilitation Office which was established in 2016 to make the process of making feature films easier for filmmakers from both India and abroad. 

Then, of course, he also spoke at length about how some prominent names from the film industry met the Prime Minister recently in order to reduce GST on film tickets which were brought into effect immediately. Then finally coming to the National Museum of Indian Cinema, Col Rathore said that the service that they have given to the country should also be documented and that this museum is the testament to their contribution. Overall, through his rousing speech, the Information & Broadcasting Minister made it clear that the government is keen to help out the film fraternity in every way possible.
