Odisha CM discusses COVID strategy with officials for July; strict action on violators
Amid rising COVID-19 cases, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Monday discussed the strategy to be implemented to contain the spread of coronavirus in July.

As lockdown 4.0 is nearing its end, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday discussed strategy to be implemented to contain spread of COVID-19 in month of July. Holding a video conference with collectors and SPs of state, chief minister emphasised on three points specifically, which are: zero infection at all government offices, care for COVID warriors and strict implementation of wearing facial masks.
He stressed on need to ensure that government offices should be COVID free and officials should strictly adhere to protocols to protect mselves against virus. He also directed to take strict action against violators.

Special attention to COVID-19 frontline warriors
chief minister insisted to provide special attention to COVID-19 frontline warriors who have been at centre of deadly battle against virus and protecting lives of people at large by putting mselves at risk of contracting virus. "y are sacrificing a lot to protect people, so y need maximum care and to be made aware of ir own security and that is very important," said Patnaik.

state government is to devise a strategy for tackling COVID-19 crisis ahead, by taking inputs from District Collectors and SPs who, in meeting, shared ir experience of last three months in COVID-19 manment. y also gave ir suggestions on how to deal with COVID-19 in month ahead. chief minister also directed authorities for creation of COVID care committees at Gaon Kalyan Samitis level, providing funds, giving m powers, training and assistance. Likewise, he also asked to create COVID care homes in every Gram Panchayat and TMCs with similar provision of fund and creation of a statutory system for monitoring. He directed SPs to formulate special strategies for hotspot areas and containment zones which lie in ir respective districts.
According to health department officials, Odisha's coronavirus death toll has mounted to 23 with two more persons succumbing to disease on Monday. total number of COVID-19 infections in state has reached 6,859. A total of 245 people, including two NDRF personnel, tested positive for disease on Monday, he said. state on Monday also reported 203 patients recovering from disease, taking total number of persons cured of disease to 4,946, which this, states recovery rate rose to 72.10 percent.
