Shravasti: In a shocking incident, the bodies of two teenagers reportedly involved in a love affair and were missing for the past two days, were found in a well in Moharnia village on Saturday morning. The deceased, identified as Rinku (19) and Suman (15), were reported missing from their homes for the past two days. A senior police official confirmed the incident saying that the bodies of the deceased were shifted to the mortuary of a hospital for postmortem. A legal action has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the incident.

According to the police, both the teenagers were from Moharnia village under the Sonwa police station. They had disappeared on December 26, following which their families reported them missing on December 28.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, their bodies were discovered floating in a well located in the village. The police suspect that the incident may be a case of suicide, but they are keeping all possibilities under investigation.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Ghanshyam Chaurasia confirmed the discovery of the bodies and said that while suicide is suspected, the police are looking into all angles to determine the exact cause of death.

The case has raised suspicions of a possible love affair, though the investigation is ongoing. "According to the villagers, there was a love affair between the two. It is believed that both of them might have committed suicide by jumping into the well," the SP said, adding the cause of death will be revealed only after the postmortem report comes.

"At present, the police are looking into all the aspects of the death of the teenagers," he said.

In another incident in Amarhawa village under Bhinga police station of the district, Sangeeta Soni (35) and her acquaintance Changur (40) were found dead.

It is alleged that Changur brutally attacked Sangeeta with an axe, killing her on the spot. After the murder, he fled from the spot, climbed a tall tree near the village and hanged himself.

Sangeeta's husband Raju Soni claimed that they had a property dispute with Changur.

An investigation is both incidents is on, the SP said.
