UP Congress expels 10 party leaders for tarnishing party's image; big casualties

Senior leaders from UP were accused of opposing the decisions of the party leadership at public forums and tarnishing the image of the Congress party

Congress party's Uttar Presh unit on Sunday expelled ten of its senior leers, including two former state ministers, for a period of six years for allegedly tarnishing party's im and opposing its leership's decisions at public forums. leers were expelled from primary membership of Congress, a member of party's disciplinary committee Imran Masood said in a statement. Former UP ministers Ramkrishna Dwivedi and Satyev Tripathi, Siraj Mehdi (former MLC), Santosh Singh (former MP), Bhoodhar Narayan Mishra (former MLA), Vid Chaudhary (former MLA), Nek Chandra Pandey (former MLA), Swayam Prakash Goswami (former chairman of Youth Congress) and senior leer Sanjeev Singh were expelled.

se leers are accused of opposing decisions of party leership at public forums and tarnishing im of party, according to statement. "A tice was issued to 11 leers on Thursday and a reply was sought in next 24 hours. Barring former MLA Hafiz Mohamm Umar, one submitted ir reply," Masood said. Congress on Thursday served tices to leers in state for "unnecessarily opposing" party over revamp of Uttar Presh Congress Committee (UPCC) in October.

Some disgruntled leers h met at Siraj Mehdi's home in first week of vember. "I do t have any fights with anyone and I have been serving party since past 30 to 40 years," Mehdi, who w faces disciplinary action, h said on Thursday. In backdrop of what we are getting to hear, we only want that our role in party be defined," he h said.
