Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday criticized Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central government for stopping farmers from entering national capital to raise ir demands. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has tweeted questioning BJP government. Earlier today, demanding pending sugarcane dues, loan waivers and cheap electricity, hundreds of farmers from Uttar Pradesh, were marching to Delhi's Kisan Ghat.

"What is reason that farmers are being prevented from coming to Delhi and raising ir demands? BJP government, in its campaigns, talks about welfare of farmers. But when farmers of Uttar Pradesh say y want sugarcane arrears, loan waiver and cut in electricity prices, why are y t allowed to speak?" she said in a tweet.

On ir way to Kisan Ghat, memorial of former prime minister and farmers' leader Chaudhary Charan Singh, in national capital. Barricades were put across roads in a bid to strengn security at East Delhi's Ghaziapur border to stop agitating farmers from reaching Delhi.

UP Farmers March To Delhi's Kisan Ghat

farmers who are rallying under banner of Bharatiya Kisan Sangathan (BKS) had started ir march from Saharanpur on September 11, as per reports. After reaching ida on Friday where y reportedly held talks with government representatives. After failing to reach consensus, farmers moved to Delhi-Ghaziabad border on Saturday on, according to sources.

According to ANI, protesting farmers had sent 11 representatives to Ministry of Agriculture to place ir demands to Centre. Sources report that delegation had a fruitful talk with Additional Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and has been assured that ir demands will be put forward to Centre. government has asked m to give Centre 10-15 days to address issues. delegation has told sources that after se talks, BKS chief Pooran Singh has called off rally temporarily. Sources furr report that farmers have been assured by Centre that 5 of ir 15 demands will be met by Centre. Pooran Singh has stated that y will agitate again if all ir demands are t met.
