UP Govt Forms Three-Member Committee to Probe Lucknow's Building Collapse Incident

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has formed a three-member committee on Sunday to investigate the tragic building collapse in Lucknow that claimed eight lives and injured 28 others. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in the Transport Nagar area when a three-storey building suddenly crumbled, trapping many residents under the debris.
The committee, established on the orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , will be chaired by Sanjiv Gupta, a secretary in the home department. Balkar Singh, Secretary of the Housing and Urban Planning Department, and Vijay Kanaujia, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department, are the other members tasked with the investigation.
According to a press statement, the panel will thoroughly probe the cause of the collapse and submit its findings to the government. The report is expected to help authorities understand the reasons behind the incident and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
"The inquiry committee is expected to investigate the cause of the incident and submit its report to the government as soon as possible," the statement read.
Eight people were killed and 28 others were injured when a three-storey building collapsed in the Transport Nagar area of Lucknow on Saturday evening.
Rescue operations are ongoing, and the state government has assured that those responsible will be held accountable.
