Owner and Coordinator of Coaching Centre Arrested, Criminal Case Registered

In another news, Rau's IAS Study Circle's owner Abhishek Gupta and coordinator Deshpal Singh were arrested hours after the bodies of students were recovered from the flooded basement of the coaching center in Central Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar.

According to the available information, a case was registered under Sections 105, 106(1), 115/2, 290 and 35 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection to the incident.

DCP Central M Harshavardhan said, “... We have registered a criminal case. Our forensic teams are here... The process of collecting forensic evidence is underway. We are committed to the fact that we should have a proper investigation... We are committed to registering a strong case and finding out the truth. Two people have been detained so far...”

Circumstances That Led To Flooding

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the flooding. Initial findings suggest that the basement, located about eight feet below ground level, was overwhelmed by rainwater that broke through a steel shed installed at the entrance to prevent water ingress. The police and fire department are also considering the possibility that the gate was opened to let a car out, allowing water to rush in.
