US Department of State expresses commitment to work with Indian govt to combat terrorism, condemning attack in Pulwama by Pak backed JeM

World leaders across geographies stood in solidarity with India against the barbarous and cowardly attack on the CRPF battalion that resulted in the martyrdom of 37 jawans.

World leaders across geographies stood in solidarity with India against the barbarous and cowardly attack on the CRPF battalion that resulted in the martyrdom of 37 jawans. 

The US Department of State released a statement expressing their strongest condemnation against the terrorist attack by Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror organisation and extended their condolences to the victims and their families.

The statement read: 

The US Department of State released a statement expressing their strongest condemnation against the terrorist attack by UN-designated, Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammad terror organisation and extended their condolences to the victims and their families.

They further committed to "resolutely" work with the Indian government to combat terrorism.  They further called on all the countries to uphold the responsibility of denying "safe haven and support" to terror outfits.

On February 14, immediately after the attack, UN taking cognisance of the attack in Pulwama district along the Jammu-Srinagar highway stated that perpetrators behind the attack should be brought to justice. 

The following was the statement released by the CRPF which details about the attack:

  • The convoy started from Jammu around 4 am. It was an Up Convoy to Srinagar. 
  • 70 vehicles were in this convoy with 2,500 CRPF personnel. 
  • Road opening party had cleared the route. 
  • The convoy had last checked in at Anantnag. 
  • A civilian car was laden with IED.
