Congratulatory messs poured in Wednesday from world leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his UK counterpart Keir Starmer, for Donald Trump after his "historic" comeback in US presidential election.

Starmer was among first world leaders to issue a congratulatory mess soon after Trump addressed a rally in Florida to claim victory in US presidential race.

He said "special relationship" between UK and US would continue to prosper under new American administration after Trump clinched crucial battleground states in US overnight.

78-year-old Republican leader cleared 270 electoral votes needed to clinch presidency by securing a victory in key battleground state of Wisconsin.

According to races called by Associated Press up to 4 pm (IST), 277 electoral votes had gone to Republican candidate Trump and 224 to Democratic Party's Kamala Harris .

"Congratulations President-elect Trump on your historic election victory. I look forward to working with you in years ahead,” Starmer said in a statement released by 10 Downing Street in London.

"As closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise. From growth and security to invation and tech, I kw that UK-US special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of Atlantic for years to come,” he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu congratulated Trump for his "historic return to White House".

Addressing Trump and his wife Melania Trump, Netanyahu in a post on X said, "Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your historic return to White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory!" Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese congratulated Trump on his "election victory".

"Australians and Americans are great friends and true allies. Working toger, we can ensure partnership between our nations and peoples remains strong into future," he posted on X.

French President Emmanuel Macron in a post on X said, “Ready to work toger as we were able to do during four years. With your convictions and mine. In respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.” Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Trump on his "impressive" election victory.

Recalling his "great meeting" with Republican leader in September during which y discussed " Ukraine-US strategic partnership, Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine", Zelenskyy in a post on X said he appreciated Trump’s commitment to “peace through strength” approach in global affairs.

"This is exactly principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action toger. We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership. We rely on continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in United States.

"We are interested in developing mutually beneficial political and ecomic cooperation that will benefit both of our nations. Ukraine, as one of Europe's strongest military powers, is committed to ensuring long-term peace and security in Europe and Transatlantic community with support of our allies," he said.

Zelenskyy said he is looking forward to personally congratulating Trump and discussing ways to strengn Ukraine's strategic partnership with US.

Congratulating Trump, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Italy and US are “sister” nations, linked by an unshakable alliance, common values, and a historic friendship.

"It is a strategic bond, which I am sure we will w strengn even furr," she said in a post on X.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz congratulated Trump, saying, "For a long time, Germany and US have been working toger successfully promoting prosperity and freedom on both sides of Atlantic. We will continue to do so for wellbeing of our citizens." European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in a post on X congratulated Trump and underlined that EU and US are "more than just allies".

"We are bound by a true partnership between our people, uniting 800 million citizens. So let's work toger on a strong transatlantic nda that keeps delivering for m," she said.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said Trump's win is "biggest comeback" in US political history and is "a much-needed victory for World".
