US President Donald Trump on Sunday responded to PM Narendra Modi's tweet about his reception at the 'Howdy, Modi!' event. PM Narendra Modi in his tweet had thanked the people of Houston for the affection shown to him. He even posted a video of the grand welcome he received after taking the stage. 'PM Modi doing an exceptional job'
In his speech, President Trump celebrated the India-US relationship and said that together the countries will deepen their ties. President Trump also wished PM Narendra Modi for winning the Lok Sabha elections in 2019.

"I am so thrilled to be here with one of America's most loyal friends, the Prime Minister Modi of India. And PM Modi is truly doing an exceptional job for India and for all of Indian people. It is truly my priviledge to be here today. Respectfully grateful to be joined by over 50,000 thriving, prospering and hardworking Indian community.
"Just a few months ago, 600 million Indians went to polls and voted overwhelmingly for PM Modi. Congratulations Mr Modi. That's a lot of people. Earlier this week you also marked a milestone. I hope everyone joins me in wishing you a very Happy Birthday," he said.

'India has a great friend in me as the President'
President Trump reminded the audience of his poll promise of bringing significance to US' relation with India. Here's what he said.

"In my campaign for President, I promised if elected India would have a true and great friend in the White House I can tell that you never had a better friend in a President than President Donald Trump. The Prime Minister knows that" he said.
