Uttarakhand celebrates Republic Day; Guv Maurya unfurls tricolour at Parade Ground

Flag hoisting ceremonies were held across Uttarakhand on Tuesday to mark Republic Day with Goverr Baby Rani Maurya unfurling tricolour at state-level function held at Pare Ground here.
Maurya also took ceremonial salute of Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Uttarakhand Police, Provincial Armed Constabulary, Homeguard and PRD jawans on occasion besides watching performances by folk artistes.

He also gave away medals to four police personnel for ir outstanding services.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and MPs Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah and Naresh Bansal were present on occasion.

Police officials houred included Deputy Superintendents of Police Kamal Singh Panwar and Preep Mhukar Godbole, Inspector Mukesh Tyagi and Sub-inspector Ram Naresh Sharma.
Earlier, goverr also unfurled national flag at Raj Bhavan and paid hom to heroes of India's freedom struggle and makers of country's Constitution.

Chief Minister Rawat hoisted national flag at his official residence while Assembly Speaker Premchand Aggarwal did so at Vidhan Sabha premises in Gairsain, which was me summer capital of state last year.
Speaking at function in Gairsain, Aggarwal said by making it summer capital of state chief minister h houred sentiments of people who fought for statehood.

He said he felt really proud to unfurl tricolour on Vidhan Sabha premises at Gairsain on occasion.
