Another Train Derailment Conspiracy? LPG Cylinder Found on Railway Tracks in Uttarakhand's Roorkee

Roorkee: A conspiracy to derail a goods train in Uttarakhand was thwarted when an empty LPG cylinder was discovered on the railway track near Dhandera station in Roorkee. 

The train's driver spotted the cylinder and promptly alerted railway authorities.

At 6:35 AM, the loco pilot of a goods train reported to the Station Master at Roorkee that a cylinder had been found on the tracks between Landaura and Dhandhera, approximately one kilometer from Dhandhera station. A pointsman was promptly dispatched to the site and confirmed that the cylinder was empty. The cylinder was then placed in the custody of the Station Master at Dhandhera. Local police and the Government Railway Police (GRP) have been notified, and an FIR is being filed at the Civil Lines Police Station in Roorkee, according to Himanshu Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Northern Railway.

 Several train derailment conspiracies have been reported in different parts of the country in the past months; in a latest, another major mishap was averted after the loco pilot of a goods train in Kanpur applied the emergency brake on seeing a cylinder on the railway tracks.
