Uttarakhand: Teerth Purohits lash out over formation of Char Dham Devasthanam Board

The Teerth Purohits and Panda Society of Uttarakhand expressed anger over the formation of a high-level coordination committee.

 Teerth Purohits and Panda Society of Uttarakhand expressed anger over formation of a high-level coordination committee for smooth conduct of pilgrims to Char Dham and 51 or shrines in state. While speaking to media on Thursday, Chairman Dimmer Maha Panchayat Shri Brinath Dham questioned formation of committee. 

He said, "We do t understand why state government has formed this board. Before this, Brinath -Kedarnath Samiti use to look after all temples and was under government. mistake was done by this committee, n why board was formed?"

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Congress president Preetam Singh while supporting Teerth Purohits hit out at BJP government and said, " BJP government in state is intoxicated with power. Teerth Purohits are opposing this and Congress is with m. If our party will be voted to power again, n our government will re-think of removing Devasthanam Act."

Countering Uttarakhand Congress president's statement, Ajendra Ajay, Media Incharge BJP, said, " ruling BJP government in state has me it clear that everyone will get ir respective rights. Some people have political prejudices and thus keep raking up matter for reason."

Uttarakhand govt forms committee

Uttarakhand government on Friday formed high-level committee consisting of representatives from various departments. committee will also be heed by chief secretary. Reportedly, decision was me during first meeting of newly formed Char Dham Devasthanam Board which is heed by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. 

four Himalayan pilgrims sites--  Yamutri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Brinath-- called as 'Char Dham' are few of most revered pilgrims. Tritionally, Char Dham pilgrim begins from west from Yamutri, n proceeds to Gangotri, Kedarnath and ends at Brinath in east. Meanwhile,  Char Dham Manment Board Bill was passed last year in December. Later, in January this year, Goverr Baby Rani Maurya h agreed to  Char Dham Devasthanam Manment Act 2019.
