e Varanasi Divisional Commissioner Deepak Aggarwal on Monday clarified that formal proposal is under consideration as of w regarding dress code for visitors at Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Earlier it was reported that authorities were mulling introducing tritional wear "Dhoti" as a dress code for devotees visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Speaking to media, Aggarwal said, "Several media outlets are carrying reports about a dress code for visitors at Kashi Vishwanath Temple. I state it with full responsibility that such formal proposal is under consideration as of w. A verbal suggestion was me by some members of Kashi Vidvat Parish. It was discussed but we have t received any formal proposal. I deny all such reports on matter. At present, 'Sparsh-Darshan' is allowed for a short time after 'Mangla-Arti' keeping in view limited in sanctum sanctorum and a large number of devotees."

"Yesterday, a meeting was chaired by Tourism and Religious Affairs Minister Neelkanth Tiwari in which or stakeholders were also present. meeting mulled over introducing tritional 'dhoti' as a dress code for those who want to do 'Sparsh-Darshan'. We will introduce it only after thorough discussions with several stakeholders. people will eir bring ir own 'dhoti' or Mandir Nyas will provide m with one," he ded.
Dress Code for devotees
According to reports, authorities at Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi have decided to implement a dress code for devotees before y enter sanctum of temple on Sunday. According to new rule, male devotees will have to wear Indian tritional 'dhoti-kurta', while women will have to wear a sari to enter premises and worship deity. decision to this effect was taken by Kashi Vidwat Parish as per reports. Those wearing pants, shirts and jeans will only be able to worship deity from a distance. y will t be allowed to enter sanctum.
