A video clip of PM Modi's meeting with Opposition MPs has been leaked online in which TMC's Sudip Bandyopadhyay can be seen on one screen & PM Modi on the other

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a meeting with lawmakers of political parties via video conference to discuss situation across country due to Coronavirus pandemic. w, a video clip of meeting has been leaked online in which TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay can be seen on one screen and PM Modi on or. This is first such video to emerge in which PM Modi can be heard having a conversation with ors as government releases visuals without audio. In fact, this is first clip of any of video conferences Prime Minister has held - with numerous key groups - in which audio is evident.

A situation similar to a "national emergency"
In video which appears to have been leaked from Trinamool MP's side, PM Modi described current situation in country similar to a "national emergency." He also said that social distancing is only way to fight this pandemic which is what or countries are practising as well. Prime Minister Modi hinted about extending lockdown beyond April 14 as he said that various CMs and District officials have suggested an extension. Even if lockdown is lifted, it will be done in a phased manner and it cant be totally lifted in one go, Prime Minister said.
'We must continue to remain vigilant'
Interacting with floor leaders of opposition and or parties in parliament via video conferencing on Wednesday, PM Modi said, "We must continue to remain vigilant."

" situation in country is akin to a social emergency... it has necessitated tough decisions and we must continue to remain vigilant," Prime Minister told leaders, according to an official statement. Suggestions were also given by leaders on extending lockdown, and on a "phased exit" after lockdown ended. leaders provided feedback, suggested policy measures, discussed 21-day lockdown and way forward, according to statement.

death toll due to vel coronavirus rose to 149 and number of cases climbed to 5,194 in country on Wednesday, according to Union Health Ministry. Prime Minister praised efforts of state governments working toger with centre in this fight against pandemic.
