Shimla: A cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh has severely damaged the Kullu-Manali Highway, washing away a section of the road due to heavy rainfall and severe flooding.

The Kullu-Manali Circuit starts in Chandigarh and ends at Manali. This highway is the main route for the Kullu-Manali Circuit, which is divided into four main trails - Sutlej Trail, Beas Trail, Kullu Valley Trail, and the Rohtang Pass.
Meanwhile, monsoon rains have caused severe damage in Himachal Pradesh. In Kullu district's Manikaran, the dam of a power project in Malana village collapsed, leading to flooding in the valley and widespread chaos. The heavy rain at midnight caused the Beas River to swell, changing its course near Manali and flooding the highway. The Chandigarh-Manali National Highway is closed in several areas due to landslides.

Residents around Bhuntar are on high alert due to severe flooding in the Parvati River. Both the Parvati and Beas Rivers have swept away schools and houses. Additionally, the vegetable market in Manikarn Valley has been carried away by the Parvati River.
The Leh-Manali Highway is blocked near Palchan, and the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway is disrupted in multiple places because of the Beas River's raging waters. Although there have been no reported casualties, the vegetable market building has been lost to the flood in the Parvati River.
