Delhi Horror: Man, Nephew Shot Dead While Celebrating Diwali Outside Their Shahdara House
A 40-year-old man and his teenaged nephew were shot dead by armed assailants outside their home in Shahdara on Thursday, police said.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident that unfolded on Diwali night in the national capital, a 40-year-old man and his teenaged nephew were shot dead by armed assailants outside their house in Shahdara on Thursday, police said. The Delhi Police have formed three teams to crack the case. The man riding the two-wheeler has been detained while the shooter is still at large.
The deceased have been identified as Akash Sharma alias Chottu and his nephew, Rishabh Sharma (16). In the firing, Akash's 10-year-old son Krish Sharma also sustained bullet injuries. The incident occurred when the victims were celebrating Diwali outside their house in Shahdara's Farsh Bazar area at around 8 pm.

After receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and began investigation. "On receiving a PCR call at about 8:30 pm, a police team was dispatched. The team found blood at the spot," a police official said.
The entire incident was recorded on camera. In the visuals, two men, one on a two-wheeler, can be seen approaching the victim's house where Diwali celebrations were underway. The man and his nephew were seen bursting firecrackers outside their house as the two men greeted the victims and opened fire after a few seconds. One of the accused even touched feet of Akash Sharma before opening fire. After the assailants opened fire at Akash and escaped the scene, Rishab ran towards them in order to confront but he was also shot dead.

All the victims were rushed to a hospital where Akash and Rishabh were declared dead by doctors while Krish Sharma was undergoing treatment.
Police suspect it to be a case of personal enmity. Statements of the victims' family members will also be recorded.
