Hyderabad: Dramatic visuals capturing an attempt to rob a jewellery shop in Telangana’s Hyderabad on Thursday morning has taken the internet by storm. In the viral videos, it can be seen that two men, one of them cladded in a burkha, attempted to rob a jewellery shop in Hyderabad’s Kompally area on knife point. The accused not only attempted to rob the shop but also attacked the shop-keeper with the knife causing him severe injury on his neck.

However, the shop-keeper’s daring act, despite sustaining injury, forced the robbers to flee the spot as they failed in their bid to loot the shop. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed nearby the shop.

Police Have Registered a Case And Initiated a Probe

Following the incident, a case was registered at the local police station and a probe was initiated. The police are analysing CCTV footage to ascertain the identities of the accused.

According to the police, the men posed as customers and entered the shop located on Medchal road. One of the robbers whipped out a knife and threatened the shopkeeper asking him to keep the jewellery boxes in a bag.

However, before the suspects could lay their hands on the ornaments, the owner of the shop jumped over the table and rushed out of the shop shouting for help.

As their plan failed, the offenders ran out of the shop and escaped on a motorcycle. A worker of the shop threw a chair at the offender while they were escaping but the duo managed to flee away.

The shop keeper, however, reportedly told the police that the robbers had managed to take away some gold ornaments. The police are verifying the footage recorded by the closed-circuit cameras installed on the road.

Further legal action into the matter is being carried out.
