As Prime Minister Modi on June 21 led the International Yoga Day, security forces across the country celebrated the Yoga Day performing Yoga in the early hours of Friday. In the stunning and breathtaking visual, the forces can be seen performing Yoga amid icy clad mountains.
Amid sub-zero temperature, the Army celebrated International Yoga Day at the Siachen Glacier, situated at the height of over 20,000 feet.

Hundreds of soldiers of the army's Fire and Fury Corps performed yoga asanas to mark the fifth International Yoga Day celebrations in high altitudes of Leh, Kargil, Siachen, etc. Practice of yoga asanas helps soldiers adapt to adverse weather conditions in the high-altitude terrains. June 21, which marks mass practice of yoga, was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2014.

Speaking on the occasion of Yoga Day in Ranchi, PM Modi said that peace and harmony have always been associated with Yoga, which can heal several challenges the world faces.
"Today when the world is accepting Yoga, we also have to further research on Yoga, we have to unite Yoga with fields of medicine, physiotherapy, artificial intelligence," PM Modi added.

As per an official press release, adequate security arrangements were made for the occasion in Ranchi also with 40,000 yoga enthusiasts participating with the Prime Minister in the exercise. He was accompanied by Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Governor Droupadi Murmu, Union Minister of State (Independent) for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik and Jharkhand Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi on the occasion.
