WATCH: Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi gets involved in a spat with AIADMK MLA after he speaks beyond time limit

On Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi got involved in an ugly spat with an AIADMK leader on stage after he kept on speaking beyond his time limit. In an video going viral on the internet, the first woman IPS officer could be seen arguing with the politician, with the two shouting words at each other. 

The incident took place on October 2, when during a government event, Kiran Bedi, angered by A Anbagalan's unwillingness to stop his speech which had gone beyond the alloted time, asked him to leave the stage.

She even put a message about this incident on Twitter, which read, "An MLA’s Mike had to b turned off when he persistently rejected any req from panel of Hble Ministers to limit his speech. He rejected all appeals. He shouted back. I hav seen him do this earlier too. Event was to give away awards for good work done in making Puducherry ODF @ANI"

In the video, it can be seen Kiran Bedi arguing with the AIADMK leader, following which the leader retaliates in a very angry manner. Things took an ugly turn, when in front of other guests and public, Angabalan got really angry, and had to be calmed down by other people. In the end, despite not feeling happy about the situation, the leader went off the stage in disgust.

Following the whole saga, Kiran Bedi revealed that Angabalan had 'misbehaved' with her. In a Whatsapp message sent to PTI, she said, "He went on and on beyond reasonable time when there was long programme to follow... rejected the request to stop and continued to be rude." The AIADMK leader also hit back, slamming Bedi by saying, "Is the Lt Governor a Princess in Puducherry?"

The incident took place during a 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' event on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Kiran Bedi was the guest for the programme. Initially, everything was going fine. But during Anbalagan's speech, the incident broke out.

He was speaking about the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' programme, though, went onto highlight a few 'shortcomings' from it. Bedi, who was listening to his words, indicated that the time limit of AIADMK leader was over. Despite that, Angabalan kept on speaking before his mike was switched off. Soon, an argument broke out between him and Kiran Bedi on this matter.
