WB BJP's Dilip Ghosh denies passage to ambulance, justifies saying he didn't see a patient

Dilip Ghosh on Monday denied passage to an ambulance saying it would have disturb his public meeting and instead asked the ambulance driver to take a detour

In a condemnable incident, West Bengal BJP unit President Dilip Ghosh on Monday refused to make way for an ambulance. incident took place at a street meeting in state's Nia district. BJP leer purportedly declined pass to ambulance stating that movement of vehicle would create a disturbance in his rally. He, inste, asked ambulance driver to take a detour.

incident took place in Krishnanagar on Monday near district ministrative building where Ghosh was dressing a meeting regarding Citizenship Amendment Act.

Just when Ghosh began with his speech, ambulance drove in from right side of st, following which Ghosh was heard asking ambulance driver to take a detour.

"You can't go this way. People are sitting on ro. re will be a disturbance. You take a detour," BJP leer said.

However, later, reacting to incident, Ghosh claimed incident to be a conspiracy to derail and interrupt his meeting. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district leer has spoken about incident and claimed that  ambulance was t carrying any patients at time of BJP meeting - though that's hardly any defence as ambulance could easily have been on its way to help a patient.

BJP leer in a statement given to a news ncy said, "It was asked to take a detour because re were patients inside. We would have given it right of way if a patient was re."

Ambulance stuck inside JNU premises amid protests

Earlier on vember 14, 2019, an ambulance was reportedly stuck for more than five minutes inside campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) as gates of University were locked due to protests at campus over fee hike. According to reports, a couple of protesters objected to locked gates and even tried to break gates with rods and sticks, following which ambulance was allowed to go ahe by college authorities.
