Over 1 lakh people chant Bhagavad Gita verses in Kolkata's iconic Brigade Parade grounds

People of all ages & social classes gathered at the historic location, dressed in traditional clothing, to recite verses from Gita alongside revered sages.

West Bengal: More than 1 lakh people from all backgrounds chanted spiritual verses from Bhagav Gita in a one-of-a-kind garing at Brige Pare Grounds in Kolkata. 

People of all ages and social classes gared at historic location, dressed in tritional clothing, to recite phrases from holy book alongside revered sages.

BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar, while reflecting on event, remarked, "Bhagav Gita is biggest gift of India to world. Those who are mocking event don't have any respect towards Hindu religion and its tritions. Those who are trying to divide Hindus would fail in ir endeavours." 

Prominent members of Bengal BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leership were present at spot who actively recited verses.

While reacting to turnout of people organising committee's member Kamal Singh posted on X, “World Record 🌎,- 1.2 Lakh Santan followers recited #GitaPath at Kolkata’s Brige Ground. PM Modi Ji lauded event,” 

According to organisers, around 120,000 people have registered to participate in programme.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his best wishes to 'Lokkhe Kon Gita Path' event in Kolkata, expressing his belief that recitation of Bhagav Gita by a large garing of people from various backgrounds will not only improve social harmony but will also energise nation's development journey. 

Majumdar declared on Wednesday that Modi will not attend event.
