BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar, while reflecting on the event, remarked, "Bhagavad Gita is the biggest gift of India to the world. Those who are mocking the event don't have any respect towards the Hindu religion and its traditions. Those who are trying to divide the Hindus would fail in their endeavours."

Prominent members of the Bengal BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leadership were present at the spot who actively recited the verses.

While reacting to the turnout of people the organising committee's member Kamal Singh posted on X, “World Record 🌎,- 1.2 Lakh Santan followers recited #GitaPath at Kolkata’s Brigade Ground. PM Modi Ji lauded the event,”

According to organisers, around 120,000 people have registered to participate in the programme.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his best wishes to the 'Lokkhe Konthe Gita Path' event in Kolkata, expressing his belief that the recitation of the Bhagavad Gita by a large gathering of people from various backgrounds will not only improve social harmony but will also energise the nation's development journey.

Majumdar declared on Wednesday that Modi will not attend the event.
