After former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti lashed out at BJP national secretary Ram Madhav over his brazen claim that the PDP and National Conference had boycotted the local body polls in the state because they had 'instructions from across the border', Jammu & Kashmir National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday joined the chorus and hit out at the BJP stalwart for his sensational charge.

Talking to the media at an event, Farooq Abdullah asserted that they did not involve in any communication with Pakistan over the decision and stated that he is a proud Indian.

"We are a part of this land and we have to die in this land. It is one of those things that is put up to divide this nation to such an extend that when the time will come to find where the nation is, we will not be able to find the nation. Like Ram Mandir has become the base of BJP. We never had instructions, because I was president, sitting in the chair with my working committee was also there. Our Governor's fax machine does not work, then how will they send us a message or will the god descend from the top to send this message? I am a proud Indian Muslim," said the JKNC leader, while speaking in the matter.

Probably they had fresh instructions from across the border to come together and form a government. What they did prompted the Governor to look into the whole issue".

In the light of his allegations, Omar Abdullah shot back at him as he took to Twitter to write:
