West Bengal: Thief returns stolen phone to man after he fails to operate it

According to media reports, a man from Bengal who lost his smartphone in a shop got it back a few days later after the thief who stole it returned the device.

An amazing incident came from Jamalpur in East Burdwan district on September 4, according to media reports, a man who lost his smartphone in a shop got it back a few days later after person who stole it returned device as he could t operate it. While taking on matter local police said on September 7, that man left his mobile phone worth Rs 45,000 by mistake at a sweet shop at Jamalpur and phone was soon stolen from shop counter, where it was lying, by a 22-year-old person.

Later, phone owner h lodged a complaint with police as phone could t be traced at sweet shop, a police official said. Police also ded that he h tried to make a call to his number from ar phone but found it was switched off. But situation looked up on September 6, when he repeated attempt and man who h stolen phone answered call and told him that he wanted to return phone as he did t kw how to operate it.

Sudden surprise 

“I was surprised when man took call and said he wanted to return my phone. I collected cell phone that very day from his residence with police help,” he said. “He even expressed remorse for his actions,” phone owner said when asked if man’s demear. police did t take any action against man on request of complainant as he h returned phone, official ded.
