‘When Will I Die?’: Man Attempts Suicide on Instagram Live, Meta Saves His Life, Here’s How

Shahjahanpur: A man hailing from Uttar Presh’s Shahjahanpur attempted suicide on a live stream on social media platform Instagram earlier this week, however, platform owner Meta came to rescue of man’s life.  

According to reports, man is said to have taken sleeping pills while delivering a troubling message late Thursday night.

Meta Alerts Cops, Prevents Man From Committing Suicide 

Shortly after message and video regarding attempt to commit suicide was posted, an automated alert was triggered from Meta’s Social Media Center, which immediately notified Uttar Presh Police.

Meta, which is parent company of Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, flagged live-streaming video, and location of 24-year-old was shared with police authorities.

Acting swiftly upon input, cops immediately reached location of man covering a 9 km distance in just 12 minutes.

Man Found In Unconscious State

man was found in an unconscious state and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later discharged.

“ individual, referred to as Mohan (name changed), live-streamed his despair, saying, ‘Oh God, take me with you. When will I die?’ He consumed six sleeping pills during brocast,” SP Rajesh S was quoted as saying by English Daily.

According to police, it has been suspected that re was some dispute ongoing between man and his parents.

Earlier on October 6, a second-year MBBS student was found de under suspicious circumstances at a private medical college in Shahjahanpur district. Authorities are investigating wher his death was a suicide or if foul play was involved.

student, identified as Kushagra Pratap Singh, was discovered lying in a pool of blood outside his hostel room early in morning, according to police.
